Mayor Parker’s H.O.M.E. Address: A Vision for Housing Opportunities in Philadelphia
On March 24, 2025, Mayor Cherelle Parker delivered the Housing Opportunities Made Easy (H.O.M.E.) Address to a special session of City Council, outlining her administration’s commitment to expanding affordable housing, preventing displacement, and ensuring equitable homeownership opportunities for all Philadelphians. This landmark address sets the stage for transformative housing policies that will impact communities across the city, including East Mt. Airy.

Mt. Airy Day is an annual community celebration held in the heart of the Mt. Airy neighborhood, uniting residents, businesses, and organizations from both East and West Mt. Airy. The 2025 festival, scheduled for Saturday, May 3, 2025, promises to be another unforgettable day filled with music, food, vendors, family-friendly activities, and community spirit.

Walking Tour of Tourison
Join us on Saturday, May 10, from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM for a fascinating walking tour exploring the architectural legacy of Ashton Tourison, Sr., the visionary developer behind East Mt. Airy’s Sedgwick Farms. Led by local historian Elise Rivers, this tour offers an opportunity to learn about the beautifully crafted, stone-built homes that continue to shape the character of the neighborhood.

On Saturday, May 17th, at 9 AM, we’re teaming up once again to clean up Cresheim Valley Drive (between Germantown and Stenton). We’ll meet at Mermaid Park—the small grassy patch next to the farm stand on Germantown Ave—before heading out to make a difference. Bring your energy and community spirit as we work together to keep Mt. Airy beautiful! Supplies will be provided.
